My Stationery Order TOP TIPS

August 3, 2017

Wedding stationery can be a confusing game if you've never tackled it before! So to give you a helping hand here are my top tips to get you going...

When do I order my Save the Date cards?

Save the date cards should ideally be sent to 6 to 8 months prior to the Wedding, so you will need to allow time to get them printed, delivered and to write the addresses! I aim to get your save the date cards to you within 2 and a half weeks of your order date. With that in mind I would aim to order your cards around 7 months+ of your wedding day.

When should I order my Invites?

The next step is to get your initiations sorted! I would suggest you send your invites out 4 to 6 week before the wedding. This allows time for your guests to finalise transport, accommodation, baby sitters etc. I always aim to get your invites to you within a month of your order date, so I would recommend allowing 2 months+ for these.

When should I order additional stationery such as menus, name places, table number etc?

I would aim to order all of these around 2 months before the day (possibly with the exception of the name places if you are still waiting on RSPV returns) All of my stationery comes with free delivery so fear not about making multiple separate orders!

When should I make my deadline for the RSVP cards?

You’ll need to allow enough time to finalise your seating plan and allow caterers time to get everything sorted. I wouldn’t recommend leaving it any later than 2-3 weeks. That way you will still have time to contact anyone who is still yet to reply.

Where shall I put the return address for the RSVP cards?

I would normal add it at the bottom of your RSVP cards but we can arrange to get the return address printed on to the RSVP envelopes.

We are having an adult only wedding, how can we make this clear to our guests?

It’s becoming more common for people to only want adults at their wedding, and I personally think that’s more than fine. Most guest will accept this, so be clear about your wishes, so let them know politely in your invites. If anyone replies on the RSVP with their children just give them a quick call to explain it’s and adult online day.

And a few extra things to remember…

  1. Remember stamps on the envelopes! Simple but surprisingly forgotten.

  2. Add a few extras. It’s always good to play it safe so order a few extras!

  3. Triple check your proofs! I will always send out proofs before print so ask as many people as possible to have a check.
